• A Legend of Dragons and Pricesses

While in the Western world the dragon has always been equated with devils and evil forces, the Eastern tradition is revered and respected. It has a local legend that long ago a princess gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl. The child was strong and healthy but she was a lizard. Soon the girl left the maternal home feeling guilty the burden imposed on his mother. The mother never forgot her daughter every day and went to a nearby beach to feed the little one. The lizard dragon grew and became the source but not forgotten their roots. The villagers say that for this reason can not be dragons fear the man but never attack the inhabitants of the island who have lived for hundreds of years with lizards.

Watching the monitor lizards walking with houses the offices of the National Park in search of food is not hard to think that there is some truth in the stories of fishermen who live on the island of Komodo.
